Day nine: I can see clearly now …

Sometimes nature makes a perfect day and you just have to go with it.  Today was one of those days.

It was a gorgeous day in Reykjavík.  It was only about 65 degrees Farenheit, but it’s surprising how hot the sun feels even when it’s not sweltering outside.  I had lunch with Ariel and Michael, Facebook friends who just finished three weeks backpacking around Iceland.  They leave tomorrow, unfortunately, but we got to chat about their adventures over lunch at the Laundromat Café.  It sounds like they had a fabulous time.  Maybe I’ll follow in their footsteps before too long.

Afterward, there was nothing to do but to enjoy the afternoon outside.  Since there’s no way to improve on what nature delivered, I’ll just post the pictures from around the harbor near Harpa, the waterfront concert hall :

  1. Idle hands are the devil’s playthings, and you have too much time on your hands. I assume you were instrumental in the Pirate Party’s successful bid to get the Blasphemy Law repealed. What other piece of Icelandic culture will fall before classes start?
